A myriad of changing light and colour moods on the Bodensee, sunrise in the bedroom, sunset on the loggia. For Heiko Ostman, kitchen + architecture means the art of filling a room with light. While designing his combined living and work space above the Untersee, in Swiss Ermatingen, he has turned his philosophy into a highly impressive reality. The massive body of the upper floor seems to hover on slender angled steel supports. The view from the kitchen through the full length sliding doors is simply spectacular:
Meadow and lake seemingly merge into one, creating the sense of boundless space and a oneness with nature.
